How We Got Here
Our story
“Opposites attract” is practically our mantra.
We’ve always approached problems from opposite angles and somehow landed on the same solution. “Opposites attract” is practically our mantra—and nearly 14 years later, we’re still proving it true. Over time, we realized our strengths weren’t just complementary; they were powerful when combined.
So we built a business around the way our brains naturally work: curious, analytical, creative, deeply focused, and always searching for the “why” beneath the surface. We don’t believe in guesswork. We believe in insight.
After a decade in Texas and roots in Florida, we now call The Hague, Netherlands home. That global shift sharpened our perspective: small businesses everywhere deserve clarity, strategy, and content crafted with intention.

We are a two-person partnership built on a rare pairing: business experience and academic rigor. We turn complexity into clarity. We each lead our own specialty, but because so much of our work overlaps, you get both perspectives on the problems that need them. John McAvoy, PhD
Co-Founder & Director of Scholarship & Professional Development
John holds a PhD in Adult and Organizational Learning & Leadership—the science of how people grow, how leaders are made, and how teams are built to perform. He’s taught it at every level, in person and online: a university faculty member who’s developed everyone from undergraduates to doctoral students, and entry-level hires to senior leaders. Add 15+ years in recruitment, training, and leadership, and our People & Team Development practice offers something rare: the research and the reality, from the same person.
He’s also a published scholarly writer, with three works to his name. For you, that means content, reports, and copy held to the standard of published research — clear, credible, persuasive, without the filler. The same rigor powers our Research & Data Analysis work, turning scattered information into decisions you can defend. Data first, creativity always.

Kristen holds an MBA with a focus in marketing and serves as freelance Head of Marketing and Public Relations for WerkWell, leading brand, campaigns, and communications. Strategy schooled in theory, sharpened in the field — that’s what powers our Marketing service: positioning and campaigns built on what actually moves a small business forward.
